As a Parent/Guardian/Spectator, I:
- Agree that the role as a parent/guardian is critical to the success of ABSA, the team and the child.
- Will NOT force the child to participate in sports.
- Will remember that baseball and softball with ABSA is for the youth, not adults.
- Will learn, agree to, and abide by the rules and policies of ABSA.
- Will have the child arrive on time to games and practices
- Will NOT “coach” any player from the sidelines during practices or games. (Leave the coaching to the coaches.
- (and my guests) will agree to be a positive role model for my child and encourage positive sportsmanship and support by showing respect and courtesy for all players, coaches, umpires and spectators at each game, practice or event.
- Will teach the child to treat other participants and coaches with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
- Will NOT heckle, jeer, or distract players and will avoid the use of profane or obnoxious language or behavior.
- Will provide an environment that is free from alcohol, tobacco, vaping, and drugs and will refrain from their use at all ABSA events. (Smoking/vaping/tobacco allowed in designated areas.)
- Will NOT approach players or coaches before, during or immediately after the games with anything other than support. I will wait to approach any questions or concerns with players, coaches or umpires until the day after the game. (Cool-off period.)
- Will NOT argue with or disrespect the umpires in any way.
- Will NOT show discourtesy to opposing players, coaches, spectators, umpires or league officials.
- Will file any complaint regarding a violation of rules, irreconcilable conflicts, or abuse by any player coach, umpire or fan to the Azle Baseball & Softball Association Board of Directors at [email protected].
